Apply to Volunteer
All potential volunteers can call June's Centre and ask to speak with the Volunteer Coordinator. Our screening process is very thorough because June's Centre works with vulnerable young parents and children.
There are several steps to the process:
- Come to an orientation that describes June's Centre for Teenagers and it's programs, gives a tour of the agency and describes the experiences that pregnant teens and teen parents face. Receive application forms and make appointments for interviews.
- Potential volunteers complete the application.
- An interview is scheduled with the Volunteer Coordinator.
- The Volunteer Coordinator will check two personal references provided by the potential volunteer.
- A Criminal Reference check is required. Potential volunteers sign a release that is sent to the police to screen for a criminal record.
- The potential volunteer must also provide a note from his\her doctor indicating that he\she is free from any communicable diseases, has evidence of up-to-date immunity and has had a recent TB test.
If the screening is successful, orientation and training is provided for the particular area where he\she will volunteer.
Orientations are held monthly,
Contact our Volunteer Coordinator at (416) 365-1888
