High School at June's Centre
June's Centre has a full time school program. To be eligible, you must be a participant at June's Centre. That means first meeting with a counsellor who explains all the programs including school.
June's Centre school is a one-room schoolhouse that provides a semestered program. The teacher is from the Toronto District School Board. You can earn full or partial credits from grades 9 to 12 at the applied academic levels that count towards the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Most of the core subjects are taught including English, Mathematics, Family Studies, Geography & History, Guidance and Career Studies.
The school program is in operation Monday to Thursday between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Regular attendance and punctuality are mandatory. Childcare is provided in our nursery during school hours. There are two semesters: September to January and February to June. It is possible to earn three credits per semester.
June's Centre school program has limited space. Students typically attend one or two semesters while they prepare to re-enter community school. We do not keep a waiting list. If you are interested in June's Centre school please speak to your counsellor. We have room for eight mothers and four young women who are pregnant.
