Father's Group
June's Centre has a weekly group for fathers and fathers-to-be every Monday night. This is a parenting group, just for the guys. You can share your thoughts about parenting and learn how to care for your child. We focus on understanding the stages of baby development, how to care for children (especially when they cry) and how to balance family life with work or school.
The group is a great opportunity to meet other young fathers who are sharing the same experiences. Come for supper first at our Supper Club and stay on for the group. TTC and snacks are provided at every group.
Infant Parenting Group
Each Tuesday at June's Centre, we have a group for mothers and their babies. If your baby is less than 9 months old, then this group is for you. You will get a chance to meet with other parents your age, share your experience and hear from others who understand what you are going through.
The group starts with a dinner at 4:15 every Tuesday. We share the dinner with other mothers and pregnant women before the group. There are volunteers available to give you a break from your baby while you eat your meal. It's a great place to meet other parents who share your experience of being a new mother.
Everyone who comes to the group gets a $10.00 food voucher and two TTC tickets.
Toddler Parenting Group
The Toddler Parenting Group is for parents who have children aged nine months and older. They meet once a week to share their experiences, develop positive parenting skills and have fun. The group covers a variety of topics including discipline, handling temper tantrums, controlling your own anger and anger of children, understanding child development, and communication with children. The group participants are able to learn through small and large group discussions, role-play, fun-filled games and other interaction activities.
The Toddler Parenting Group meets on Monday nights. You can come and eat supper at our Supper Club before the group. We care for your child in our Nursery while you are part of the group.
